I was very excited to read this novel since the first time I saw it on the bookstore. The writer is my favorite. So I believe that every book which she has been made is great, including this novel. The story itself is also interesting. It is very reliable story. The writer described about Mother and daughter relationship. Every events of the plot excellently, there are funny expression, love passion, and other good emotion that the writer shared toward the main character.
The greatest person which I liked in this novel was Candace Cannie Shapiro. She is a good mother. She kept a close on her daughter, Joy. She knew all about Joy, she would know if anything had changed, and Joy’s life. Cannie did not want her daughter sad so she keep a secret that she will not has a baby again after she uttered Joy. She was always patient when Joy blamed her of being an over-protective mom.
Then, the part I liked most of this novel was when Peter told Joy that her mother has a popular book which can make her realize of all about her and Cannie. Joy eventually breaks down and reads the popular book her mother wrote 10 years ago. "Big Girls Don't Cry" is a sensationalized version of the events that led up to Joy's birth, and after reading it, Joy is so traumatized that she begins to question every aspect of her life. Eventually Joy embarks on a quest to discover the truth about her mother and herself.
The worth thing which can be learnt from this novel is do not blame and think negative to your parent especially your mother because we did not forget our families because our family is the people closest to us love. Usually we often forgot our family because there were so many activities, but they were the nearest person who loved us in this life she had done the best thing of her for you. As Cannie do for her daughter that she kept secret about her sad life in order to keep Joy do not sad. She was always patient even though Joy always blamed her and didn’t care about her family, She was just having fun with her friends until she knew all about her mother’s life in a book.
